Work comment
According to van Boer this aria is a considerably revised version of the final aria of the cantata La Pesca (VB 44). It was composed for Lovisa Augusti (née 1751 or 1756, d. 1790). The copy's cover states that this aria is identical to the one closing Kraus's composition [sic] of Metastasio's cantata La Pesca, ableit with somewhat different details and also longer.
