Violin part
Work comment
According to the preface to the printed edition, both the Serenade (opus 2) and the Souvenir de Säter (opus 1) were composed in the summer of 1888. In a notebook, the Serenade follows immediately after the Souvenir de Säter. Alfvén composed the violin part while Ernst Ellberg assisted him in composing the piano part. Ellberg was Alfvén's fellow student during a violin course held that summer by Johan Lundberg at Säter (Dalecarlia).
