Work comment
Jubilate takes its cue from collective joy: the sound of spectators cheering and the exhilaration of a shared celebration. Its destructive counterpart is the aggression of hooligans who disrupt the festivities.
These opposing forces become musical contrasts: tonal and atonal, loud and soft, organic and mechanical. As the work unfolds, the contrasts gradually dissolve and finally unite.
