Work comment

Hilma Interludes and Epilogue is a suite for piano trio comprising three interludes and an epilogue from Hilma: an opera about hidden art. The music draws on Hilma af Klint's art and visions.

The first interlude depicts a séance with premonitions of aircraft, tanks and bombs. The second takes its inspiration from the pyramid-shaped painting Altarpiece. The third evokes visions of the two world wars, while the epilogue is a farewell to life.
